Type area: Song, Rong Kwang and Wang Chin districts, Phrae province, central part of the Northern Region of Sukhothai Fold Belt. Subdivisions: Subdivided into 3 formations: Pha Daeng Fm, Kang Pla Fm, and Wang Chin Fm.

Synonym: กลุ่มหินสอง

Lithology and Thickness

Sequences of red beds, grey beds, limestones, and mudstones interbedded with turbiditic sandstones. Thickness: Up to 2,100 m

Lower contact

Underlain by the uppermost unit (Doi Long Fm) of the Lampang Gr

Upper contact

Unconformably overlain by the Huai Peng Gr of early Jurassic.

Correlation: Upper part of Lampang Gr of Chaodumrong (1992), Rong Kwang Fm of Bunopas (1981).
